My little Jalapeno
So last night January 25th Logan ate his first Jalapeno. We were at the Main Bar for dinner. I had Chicken Quesadilla. Logan had a grilled cheese with a pickle. He kept grabbing for his plate the whole night. Well while I was not looking, he apparently grabbed a jalapeno. And he put it in his mouth. OMG. Poor baby. He cried so hard. Tears streaming down both eyes. I had to fish it out of his mouth. Then I gave him Grilled cheese and a bottle to cool the steam. Poor baby. It was sad. But lets be real. He might as well sucumb to his fate.
Everyone Mom, Dad, Anthony, Angel (they were sitting at another table) Jesse Jodi Eric they all rushed over to check him out. He is pretty loved. haha
And you know...you would think he would have learned his lesson...but no. He is still grabbing at my plate.

Standing, Trick or Treat, Your bed...okay!
So last week on Thursday (October 28th) I was watching Logan scale our walls and TV and anything he could climb over. So I grabbed my trusty video camera and started taping. Well he was sort of waving to me when he saw my camera. This made him essentially want to reach for it. And in doing so he stood by himself for a few seconds. And yes I got it all on camera. At some point in my life I would love to learn how to get these videos on here...until you must take my word for it.
Halloween was this past Sunday. I made cupcakes for friends and family that were Logans treat for everyone. They were a hit. I baked the cupcakes. And my mom and mother in law helped me decorate them. Rosemary made the delicious frosting. Logan did not go Trick or Treating, but he was passed around a bit and was a good boy for quite some time.
We are still having sleep problems. Well no problem for him really....He likes to sleep with us. Its when we force him in to his own bed, well then there is the problem. I dont know what to do. I dont like making him cry. I think it is stupid. This weekend I am going to get some sleep training books and go to town.
We did get him that projection thing with sound. He liked it for like half a night. Now he is like oh hell no, that means sleep. haha He is not dumb thats for sure.
HELP!!!!

Crying it out and Chicken
So last night Eric gave Logan his first taste of meat. Not the succulent steak you might think of on date night....the pureed nasty looking/smelling meat that only a baby could love.
Logan had half a jar of Chicken and Apples. He seemed to like it. But he didnt have a monsterous appetite. We will see how his digestive system handles this new flavor.
For a little while now Logan has taken a liking to sleeping with Eric and I in bed. Now mind you I have no problem with this. In fact I dont care not even an ounce if it is emotionally wrong for him. I dont care about your views on it. He can stay there until he is a teenager for all I care. What I do care about is an accident. I have been reading a lot about these tragedies of accidental death due to sleeping with infants. And well I think I can stomach his crying about being in his crib a 100% more than losing him because we were sad and impatient with his crying. With that being said I say we are trying the CIO method. AKA Crying it out!
Dont let the name mislead you...its so joyous. (Insert extreme sarcasm). Anyone that knows me and my parenting style can attest that I would HATE to use this method. I run to him the minute he whimpers. So it is with extreme Heartache and lots of research that I broke down and chose this method. It is commonly known as the Ferber method....Dr. Ferber of course. And well it is summed up like this.
Put baby in crib allow crying to ensue for 5 minutes. return to crib and comfort him by stroking his back/head whatever for 8-10 seconds, reassure him(as if he understands) that you love him and say good night. Leave and repeat every five minutes until he passes out from exhuastion.
You are suppose to do this for 2-3 days then on the 3rd or 4th night expand the return time to every 8-10 minutes....and keep going until by hopefully week 2 you have broke him of his bad bed manners.
I have many friends that swear by this method. And well I am sure it works wonders. But I dont like that I can not comfort my son. He was so upset last night from crying that about the 2 hour mark he puked on me. Poor baby...I hear this is common. This is like torture.
So miraculously it worked for a while. At about 4am he woke again and I told Eric to bring him to bed with us. I just felt bad. This of course undid any progress I may have made....Tonight we try again. I cant put his life at risk no matter how much it kills me. I am sure it hurts me more than him anyway.
I have read so many stories of these babies just facing their parents body...and because the space between them is so little they are re-breathing the wrong air...then they die. I just need to suck it up and follow through on our new sleep training.
Eric and I are going to buy one of those projection light things. It has a white noise machine attached to it. So hopefully this will allow him some comfortable nights.

UM HELLO!!! Look at that face!
Wish us luck!

Water
October 25th...
I dont know why but I decided to put a glass of water up to Logans face last night. And he took a drink from my water. hahah I dont want to get in the habit of this as I dont want him begging to drink from our glasses...(remember he has his own sippy cup). But he was so cute. And I did it again so Eric could see.
Someone tell me how to make this kid sleep in his own bed. UGH...I am such a sucker I cant leave him there crying. Its pretty rough.
