Standing, Trick or Treat, Your bed...okay!
So last week on Thursday (October 28th) I was watching Logan scale our walls and TV and anything he could climb over. So I grabbed my trusty video camera and started taping. Well he was sort of waving to me when he saw my camera. This made him essentially want to reach for it. And in doing so he stood by himself for a few seconds. And yes I got it all on camera. At some point in my life I would love to learn how to get these videos on here...until you must take my word for it.
Halloween was this past Sunday. I made cupcakes for friends and family that were Logans treat for everyone. They were a hit. I baked the cupcakes. And my mom and mother in law helped me decorate them. Rosemary made the delicious frosting. Logan did not go Trick or Treating, but he was passed around a bit and was a good boy for quite some time.
We are still having sleep problems. Well no problem for him really....He likes to sleep with us. Its when we force him in to his own bed, well then there is the problem. I dont know what to do. I dont like making him cry. I think it is stupid. This weekend I am going to get some sleep training books and go to town.
We did get him that projection thing with sound. He liked it for like half a night. Now he is like oh hell no, that means sleep. haha He is not dumb thats for sure.
HELP!!!!

Crying it out and Chicken
So last night Eric gave Logan his first taste of meat. Not the succulent steak you might think of on date night....the pureed nasty looking/smelling meat that only a baby could love.
Logan had half a jar of Chicken and Apples. He seemed to like it. But he didnt have a monsterous appetite. We will see how his digestive system handles this new flavor.
For a little while now Logan has taken a liking to sleeping with Eric and I in bed. Now mind you I have no problem with this. In fact I dont care not even an ounce if it is emotionally wrong for him. I dont care about your views on it. He can stay there until he is a teenager for all I care. What I do care about is an accident. I have been reading a lot about these tragedies of accidental death due to sleeping with infants. And well I think I can stomach his crying about being in his crib a 100% more than losing him because we were sad and impatient with his crying. With that being said I say we are trying the CIO method. AKA Crying it out!
Dont let the name mislead you...its so joyous. (Insert extreme sarcasm). Anyone that knows me and my parenting style can attest that I would HATE to use this method. I run to him the minute he whimpers. So it is with extreme Heartache and lots of research that I broke down and chose this method. It is commonly known as the Ferber method....Dr. Ferber of course. And well it is summed up like this.
Put baby in crib allow crying to ensue for 5 minutes. return to crib and comfort him by stroking his back/head whatever for 8-10 seconds, reassure him(as if he understands) that you love him and say good night. Leave and repeat every five minutes until he passes out from exhuastion.
You are suppose to do this for 2-3 days then on the 3rd or 4th night expand the return time to every 8-10 minutes....and keep going until by hopefully week 2 you have broke him of his bad bed manners.
I have many friends that swear by this method. And well I am sure it works wonders. But I dont like that I can not comfort my son. He was so upset last night from crying that about the 2 hour mark he puked on me. Poor baby...I hear this is common. This is like torture.
So miraculously it worked for a while. At about 4am he woke again and I told Eric to bring him to bed with us. I just felt bad. This of course undid any progress I may have made....Tonight we try again. I cant put his life at risk no matter how much it kills me. I am sure it hurts me more than him anyway.
I have read so many stories of these babies just facing their parents body...and because the space between them is so little they are re-breathing the wrong air...then they die. I just need to suck it up and follow through on our new sleep training.
Eric and I are going to buy one of those projection light things. It has a white noise machine attached to it. So hopefully this will allow him some comfortable nights.

UM HELLO!!! Look at that face!
Wish us luck!

Water
October 25th...
I dont know why but I decided to put a glass of water up to Logans face last night. And he took a drink from my water. hahah I dont want to get in the habit of this as I dont want him begging to drink from our glasses...(remember he has his own sippy cup). But he was so cute. And I did it again so Eric could see.
Someone tell me how to make this kid sleep in his own bed. UGH...I am such a sucker I cant leave him there crying. Its pretty rough.

Spartans Victory, 9 months and more
October 9 we had the big game. MSU vs U of M. This is Logans first big game. He dressed for success....

Eric and I laughed because Logan of course has way better Spartan gear than we do. But isnt that the way life is after a child? He is such a cutie. And what a great sport. We had about 50 people over to Dad and moms house for our annual tailgate. This year was the biggest. We all pitched in and rented a 50 inch flat screen for the big game. And it was such an amazing game. MSU whomped all over Michigans tail. 34 to 17. Which this meant it was a personal victory for Eric and I as well. Like a dummy I made a bet with Jesse and Jodi. If MSU won they had to wear Spartan shirts and pose for pics. And if U of M won then Eric and I had to do the same. OMG...I was sweating bullets leading up to the big game. But no worries...it was a piece of cake. And I am here to report that Jesse and Jodi were super great sports about it. Pics to come....
Logan had his 9 month apt with Dr. Josh...
Stats:
20 pounds even
19.25" long
Got his first round of flu shot
Has 2 bottom front teeth
Working on the top front two
Crawls like a maniac
Pulls up on everything to stand (does not cruise yet)
Cant eat 2nd foods(little slow there but whatever)
Can eat puffs
Can start to use a sippy Cup
We decided to do the NO JUICE allowed method.
And he says Dadda on the regular. It seems that the mamma was a fluke. haha
He loves to sleep in bed with us (major no no....but we need sleep)
He is a poser(for pics of course)
Loves to play with other kids
His fave toy is still his baseball bat and tee
We sent out Halloween cards. I thought it was insane that Shutterfly had this dino layout when Logan is going as a dinosaur. Very cool if you ask me. So off they went.

Saturday October 16th we took our Medina family portraits. We wanted to get a picture with our Grandma Medina. Logan slept pretty much the whole time until Christy was ready to take his 9 month pics. Of course we did get some Christmas shots in. But those will have to remain a secret until you get your Christmas card. But let me just tell you....SUPER adorable. Christy does an amazing job with Logans pics. I just adore her!
Well thats all for now!

My baby.....
Lets see, didnt I promise to be more on top of it the last time I was here. Yet here I am fighting to remember the most important happenings of last week. Here is my best guess:
ah yes...apt.
border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525025212246759730" />
Here is Logan at Lansing Opthomology. He was being tested because I think he appears to have a lazy eye. And just to be safe, Dr. Josh recommended we get it checked out. So here he is all big boy playing on the table. It is essential that I note that about 15 people stared at Logan. And most of them commented to me at how adorable/cute/handsome etc he was. It was very sweet.
So Logan was checked out. She did not think that he has a lazy eye as he passed his exam. And he was tested to see if he needed to wear glasses. He does not. In fact he has vision that is expected at this age...slight far sidedness. This apt was not perfect though. He had to get his eyes dilated. And let me just tell you how much he hated that. He was screaming. I had to hold his head still. He does not like that at all. But he made it. And it was a little bit hard to handle everything without Erics help. Eric had class he could not miss of course. So single parents...I salute you.
He is just crazy on the move non stop. Its pretty cool. Last week we had my cousin Diamontinas wedding to Charlie. And we all headed over to Grand Rapids. Logan does so good on car rides now that we have what we have dubbed the "Sleeper 2000". We checked in to the hotel (Quality Inn or something like that), then we headed over to Dannys place for dinner. He made us some pretty killer tacos. And then back to the hotel as it was past 10. And we had a huge day ahead of us.
The hotel room was set up great in regards to space. We had more than enough room for Logans pack n play. However, Logan had differnt plans. He slept okay. But towards the morning he wanted to be held. So guess who slept in his dads arms most of the morning...yup...Sir Logan. Little spoiled monkey.
So we all got ready and headed over to Dannys for breakfast....yummmy. Hate to eat and run but like I said...busy day. Then we all had something missing from our wardrobes, so off to the mall we went. We wanted to get a swim in, but no chance, we took way too long. Danny came and got Logan for us. And they went to Danielles (Seans girlfriend) to watch the State game. And Danny was to babysit Logan for us for the night. So he was going to bring him back to the hotel room later.
We went to the wedding. It was beautiful. We then went to the reception. There was excellent food, and great music. It was lots of fun. But I had to get back to my little dude. So we went home around oh 9:30. haha Lame I know. But thats how things are for me right now. So when we got back to the hotel, Danny and Logan were chilling in the room watching a movie. Apprently Logan was a little stinky that day. Nice. hahah But he was good.
Me and Ashleigh and Ruben and Eric were in our room that night. And the hotel called us to ask us if we were being noisy. Mind you this is after 11:30pm. Seriously? We are so boring come on. But I can not speak for the rest of the party animals. As my family pretty much took the whole top floor of the hotel and then some of the first. lol
Logan had a repeat of the previous night in regards to sleeping on Eric. Come on kid!
But in the morning I noticed something a little different. He has another tooth. haha The night before I noticed a slight rash on his chin. So I was guessing that was what was going on. Sure enough he has teeth...no more toothless wonder.
We went and had lunch with the gang. Of course we went to Ming Ten. And then we all went to the cider mill. Logans first time. I made him pose with pumpkins. We got some cider and kettle corn. Then headed for home.
We ended up having dinner with Marc and Sarah. I dont think we have talked to them in like 6 weeks or more. So we caught up with them. They are in the process of getting a new house. Big changes ahead. And maybe some day soon a baby. While we were out to dinner we put Logan in a restaraunt high chair. And he slid almost all the way out of it. I caught him just in time. Apparently eric did not fasten him in, or figure out that the straps go between the legs. UGH. He looked at us like we were crazy....we are.

I promise!
Now I promise to learn how to download/upload videos of Logan. Until then you just sit there and be patient.
So lets see where did I leave off. Logan and his slow crawling. It brought so much happiness. Fast forward a week later.AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH he is an animal. And Eric and I are seriously having to zoom in to child proofing our home. He is literally insane. YES LOGAN! You would never know that a week ago/days ago he had no clue how to get from point A to point B. I do love it, but lets be real, I am too old for chasing a baby. hahah He will keep me young that is for sure. Or Kill me.
Then on Sunday when he decided he was the coolest kid on the block by crawling he started super drooling. And guess what??? He has a tooth. His lower tooth barely is poking through his gums. Not to be confused with GOOMS. Eric and I so hate that. Anyway....he likes to bite my chin. Only mine I guess. But anyway he bit me and I felt it good. So I cleaned my hands and checked and sure enough, there was his baby little tooth trying to poke out. OMG!!!! Eric was at my parents so I waited to tell him until he got home. He didnt really see much, but he could feel it. And off we go, he is about to start College!
He is so close to saying things. I think he says "Hi". And he always says bababa. He is enjoying hitting his softball. Monica and Jerry and gang got us a tee ball toy for Logan just before I had him. Well how he plays with it in bed every night. The amazing thing is, the ball stays real good on the Tee. So he slugs at it like crazy and we dont have to chase a ball. AWESOME.
We had Carriage Days this past weekend. Always a busy time for my family. So we had Erics mom watch Logan. Those two were sure lazy. Every time I came home to check on them, they were snoozing away. Must be nice. But we went to the bar for some lunch. And we went for a small walk. It was a freezing ice day so it was not fun to be out unless the sun came out for a peek.
I took Logan uptown later in the day where he proceeded to goof off with Aunt Frances. It was the funniest thing. She would say "Logan" and he would turn his head and smile like he was ignoring her. And he was thinking it was super funny. They did this over and over again. It was pretty comical. He has never really done anything playful like that. So that was cute.
All in all it was busy, but we of course spent lots of time with our little man. Even though we have to fight over him with everyone. Not a bad thing for sure.
I mentioned my posting video because I do have video of his first crawling and then of his going where he wants when he wants. Its quite impressive. I think he is a genius. haha
And Eric and I were laughing as we were getting ready for work this morning we were watching Glee, the Britney Spears episode. And Logan was so fascinated, he totally was watching it. He likes music.
Oh I have a picture to post....Jodi got him some Sponge Bob Square Pants PJS..super cute. And I love his little feet check it out.

I am going to try to be better about updating Logans details. Its just so hard. You want to enjoy the moment yet at the same time preserve some memories...and really I just want to be in the moment. So forgive me if I slip on adding details.

And he is off....
Last night September 22, Logan crawled all by himself. Him and I were playing on the floor. I put his monkey ball in front of him to entise him, and off he went. I wasnt sure if he actually did it as I was watching tv while playing with him. So I did it again and made Eric watch. And yup...he can crawl. Very little, and not for long. But he figured out that he needs to propell forward and that he can lift his hands to make that happen. AWESOME> We got some video footage also. Soon he will be cruising on his own.
And today he is off to the Impression 5 Museum with his daycare. There is a room for kids under four called First Impression. So he will be playing there today with his buddies. Super cute!
I will try to post video here at some point.>...I have to teach myself.

Out of order....
So babies change daily...no surprise there. But my little guy is doing things that I thought would not happen for a while. Such as reaching through his cage/crib to knock over his baby monitor and attachments on purpose. Things such as finding out the tv cabinet door swings back and forth and that it is fun to make it do this. And of course climbing over mom and dad to get to whatever it is that he sees. He is an animal. And its lots of fun. He did these things last night (Sept 17th). It just gave me a glimps in to the "No" phase of parenting. But I couldnt stop laughing at about 3:30am last night when he knocked over the monitor. I walked in to see his little face through the rails and his arms reaching so hard as far as they could go. Little nugget.
He is not full blown crawling, and we are pretty sure he can(hense the climbing). He just has not connected the dots yet. Soon enough thats for sure.
He just started apples last night. I am making a premature guess here, but fruit is not his thing. He is for sure a veggie man.
Below are random pics I posted on facebook and forgot to post here. Enjoy in no specific order:
Go Spartans. I took this picture before we dropped him off at daycare. Cute huh?

This was a pick on Opening Day for the Lions. Logans first Lions Game

This was obviously his 8mos pic. However, I took it 1 day later. What a bad mom. Eric and I realized late at night when he was sleeping on the 10th that I had forgotten to take this picture. OMG!!! So I took this the next day. And Logans Grandma Starn assisted.

This is his Boppy nap. We quickly realized that we should be using this thing for his naps. He loves it. Plus he looks super cute in it if you ask me. haha

Here he is just amazing....

This is Logans Halloween shirt. This was hard to take a pic of. He was not having it. You are not seeing the shot where he is crying so bad. I am sure he wants to slap me when he sees "new outfits" and the "camera". hahah

Here is a pic of Logan up north. We heard all this bouncing and then none...first time he bounced himself to sleep. Since then we have had some repeats of this. super cute I think.

This is a pic of Logan and Carson (Ashlie and Lee Helmers little baby. He was born in July). Both of the boys first football game at OE

and the rest are from the OE game. Logans first as I said before. He was such a good boy. We lost that day, but it was all good. And we ended sitting my Chase. He is a little boy in Logans daycare. And they totally recognized each other. it was cute.

I am sure he wants to slap me when he sees "new outfits" and the "camera". hahah

Coming up....
So we have been doing so much with Logan this summer. Its been so awesome to have him in our lives. He makes everything in the world better.
we are still working on trying to get him to crawl. He can slither around an entire room. He can crawl somewhat backwards. He is a lot more vocal. He smiles at everything. He just recently started crying when Eric and I leave him. He prefers us I suppose. And of course I dont mind that at all.
He has has mad such huge advancements that probably only Eric and I care to know about or even notice.
He was in our local paper (The Weekly) for reader of the month. This makes everyone laugh. But he reads a book a day....well he is read too. And Sharen takes him to the library all of the time. He even received a certificate. I am sure that would ahve made Erics Grandma Rybicki very proud. She was a librarian.
Lets see...recently we spent our last holiday up north for the summer. It was so horrible. Because Logan was going through something. He needed to be held all night long. And it was cold and rainy. And well it was no fun when the weather is like that. But we made the most of it, and had random good times.
Up north they do a trick or treat type deal for the kids. So Logans Halloween bag made the rounds with Little Lou. And Logan slept through the entire event. But he did wear his "My first Halloween shirt". And actually He was sporting quite the fun clothes this past weekend. Because we are going to Oktoberfest next weekend, we couldnt stop laughing with Monica found a leiderhosen (spelling) outfit in a baby size. And I thought picture opp...so of course we bought it.

He looks like Buddy the Elf.
And he wore his "you bet your bratworst I am German" shirt that I got him for his first Oktoberfest.
And of course he has his Halloween costume for home..more on that later.
But we had our fantasy football draft up north at Bucillies for the 2nd year. And Logan got to come with us. So he survived his first draft. And he was such a good boy.

And of course the long ride home, he was an angel....

Yes we owe it all to his carseat....we are all in love.
He just started eating his first bits of fruit....Bananas. He had those last night (Sept 8). He took a bite and made that "what in the hell is this" face". And then like everything else he eats, he was like okay lets do this. And proceeded to eat the rest.
Sharen told me this morning she could tell that Green Beans were not his fave. I told her his fave seems to be sweet peas. Boy he gobbles those right up.
And our old classmate Mike Griffen and his wife Shelda just had a baby boy the other day. He came quite early. But he is doing great. The reason I mention this is because I cant get over the funky cool names that these kids have now a days....
He will be hanging out with Carson Helmer (Lee & Ashley), Kellen Garcia (Charity & David), and Laine Griffen (Mike and Shelda). And then of course he will be forever buddies with Ian, Melissa and Zoey's new addition Charlotte. Now do those sound like cool people or what?
I am sure I am leaving out the latests and the greatests...but we cant capture every second of Logans life....but sure am going to try.

Logan does...

This is Logan wearing Erics outfit from when he was 9months old. Only Logan is 6/7months in this outfit and busting out of it.
This is a pic of Logan going for a walk with Uncle Jesse & Aunt Jodi...they love him.
At this point Logan has eaten the following things
Cereal
Barley
Oatmeal
Sweet Potatoes
Carrots
Green Beans
Sweet Peas
He has contracted a virus. And was his first pretty bad sickness since he has graced us with his presence. We knew he was sick imediately. When he dont smile something is not right. Long gone are the days when he would scowl...and that was his normal face. Anyway...he got up to close to 103 temp. And I was out of the door. Anyway the doctor said he had the piece of Hand foot and mouth disease. And that it obviously was the mouth part only. He did have some sores in the back of his throat. And I told the doctor that he was horse over the weekend. And that i saw some spots on his face. And he said that was very likely because of this. HE then of course asked if he was in daycare, which yup. But whatever. We were to alternate between motrin and Tylenol to get his fever down. And it worked like a charm. Eric stayed up all night long with him. He let me sleep for a couple hourse before I had to go in to work.
Logan has a new big boy car seat. He now is sporting the Graco MyRide 65. He seems to like it.
He has been copying my mom. She will tilt her head to the side and then he does...and repeat. Its pretty cute
No teeth yet
He sounds like he wants to say dada...but who knows.
He scoots around in a circle like a pro on his tummy that is.
Erics brother got married this past weekend. And Logan had a good time. He was very well behaved. He was passed around non stop...and he handled it like a pro.
Monica and Jerry babysat him for us. I think they enjoyed his company. He was zonked out when we picked him up.
Crawl
Logan took his first move forward on his own last night. August 26, 2010
Me and Eric and Rick and Julie were eating dinner. And I let him play on his tummy. Next thing you know, he is propping himself up on his knees...and he moved forward. So we are in for trouble.

Creepy Crawler
So I noticed over the weekend that Logan is moving like you would not believe. So Aunt Jamie and I tried to prop him up on his knees...and of course he fell on his face. But you can see he is wanting to do something.
Eric had Marcs bachelor party this weekend in Chicago. And the cutest thing happened when he came back. Logan got super excited to see his Daddy. Eric picked him up and he literally wrapped his arms around Erics neck and of course he smothered eric in kisses. He just eats your face really. Super cute. But he was way happy to see Eric.
******************************************************
So Eric and I last (monday August 16th)night put him on the ground. We propped him up and he stayed. Not for an eternity, but long enough to see that he will be crawling very soon. And we even got it all on video. Eric was helping him scootch across the floor. And he is getting it. He even puts himself up on all fours breifly. So we are heading in the right direction. And soon we will not be able to stop him.

my little boy
Thursday August 5th, Logan played with his first truck. We sat on the floor at my parents house. And it was just him and I. And he played with a truck. He was so facinated by it. It was so cute.

6 month errr...7 month well baby visit
August 4, 2010
So yesterday August 4th was Logans 6 month visit with Dr. Josh. Well because Dr. Josh is a rock star in the Peds Universe, we are pretty close to a month behind.
18 pounds (75th percentile)
28.5 inches long (96th Percentile)
Head was 45% that has not changed, and I really dont recall the numbers.
Logan is always happy for Dr. Josh. And everyone that sees him gets so excited. Its pretty cute. Of course until the lady with all the needles shows up. Good times. haha
He just screams his poor little head off. But Eric and I are all prepared. We always have a bottle ready to pop in his mouth when they are all finished. Poor little guy. She really got him good this time.
After his apt we went over to Erics parents for a visit. His mom made us dinner. And Logan got to spend some time in a death trap. Erics mom brought out the METAL high chair that Eric and Marc used when they were kids. Did I say METAL? haha He looked cute in it though. We just better make sure he gets a tetnus. Seriously people thought that was safe?
Erics Dad was at work so we swung by for a hello. And of course Logan was passed out. So he came out to the car to see him.
Then down for bed our little man went.

Sweet Potatoes for my Sweet Pea
August 3, 2010, Logan ate his first real food. He had Sweet Potatoes.
Michelle and I went to IGA in Ovid to get stuff for dinner. While we were passing the baby isle, I had this ah ha moment. I thought Logans Check up with Dr. Josh was to be the following day. So why not try him on some real food.
Now, if you have talked to me, you know I plan to make Logans baby food. And I still plan to do that. But we see the doc onces every other month. So I thought now is as good of time as any. And just because once in a while we have to use store bought food, doesnt mean our lives are over. Look its like you cook dinner and once in a while hit the drive through at McDonalds. See where I am going with this? haha
So anyway, he did very well. His first face was like what in the hell did you put in my mouth. Then he was like hmmm...I can handle this. And he ate one whole tablespoon. What a good boy. Our mess was not too bad if you ask me. And Eric video taped this moment. And I believe I said about 3 minutes in to it something like "okay this is as exciting as it gets". haha So he shut it off.

Family Reunion
So this year was Logans first Salinaz Reunion. The Salinaz side is my Grandma Medinas family. And well we have so much fun during this time. And I couldnt wait to introduce him to family. July 31, 2010!
So that morning we decided to dress Logan in his "formal friday" outfit. Just a little joke. He has a onesie that has a tie on it. And I just happen to put him in it on Fridays. So I mimiked it Formal Fridays.
Anyway...he wore this onesie and some Jean Shorts. Super cute. We pulled in to the park. And because we had so much crap to bring, we let Michelle get Logan out of his seat and take him to the pavillion while Eric and I unloaded the vehicle.
I hear OH MY GOD repeatedly as I am walking to the pavillion. And of course he is being passed around like crazy. And he is just laughing it up. Giving kisses and hugs to everyone and anyone.
I walk up and Aunt Lucy is crying. I said whats the matter? And of course after some prodding, she says that Aunt Joanie said "oh its our miracle baby". They all love Logan very very much. And everyone knows how hard we fought to have him. So it was just a sweet moment. Aunt Lucy is pretty sensitive to these things, so that was her reaction.
Immediately my Godmother Aunt Maggie comes up and asks if this is Logan. To which of course I say yes. And she tells me how beautiful he is. And Aunt Joanie says that besides her grand children that Logan is the most beautiful baby she has ever seen. haha Very sweet. Aunt Maggie and Uncle John are from Texas. And they visited us a couple times while I was pregnant. And Uncle John is a minister. And so they did a prayer for us at my mom and dads house when I was prego with logan. And I am sure they said many more throught my pregnancy, as did many others. To which we are so appreciative of.
Then of course all of my dads aunts begin to tell me how Logan looks just like my Dads Aunt and Uncles baby that passed when he was 1. They said he looks identical. Which was weird and interesting all the same.
All in all it was a great day. The guys went off and played horshoes and softball. And I believe I did not see Eric until 6pm. haha Logan was such a good boy. He just let anyone and everyone take him where they wanted.
He took a nap on aunt Jodi. I have about 2 minutes where I panicked. I couldnt see him, and was like um...where is my baby. But I found them sleeping in a lawn chair. And we had a great time.
After the reunion we all gathered at the bar for dinner. And then Eric and I cut the night short. He had to work on a Sunday. Because there was an oil spill in the Kalamazoo River. Eric has been needed a lot more for his work on maps. So he volunteered to go in on Sunday.
Therefore he would have to miss the golf outing on Sunday. And honestly this was a blessing, as Logan decided he needed me to hold him all night long to sleep. haha But honestly I love looking at his face. So we just had a really lazy Sunday.
Sunday August 1, 2010
Logan got his first bump....My niece Selicia thought he was strong enough to sit up by himself. And she let him go and he fell back and hit his head. I was kind of scared at first. But I didnt want to overreact and scare Selly or Logan. So I think I did well. And he was a little fussy for a minute. And then of course all was good.
We ended the night at Grandmas. Danny cooked some bbq chicken. And then off to sleep for the family.
Good weekend. Pics to come!

Bum in the air
So last night July 29th at Grandmas Logan got up on his knees. It was so cute with his little bum in the air. He will be crawling very soon. I better start lugging my cameras around with me. I want to make sure I get that on film if I can.
Its funny because he is doing things really fast now. Now he has to just flip over on his stomach if we lay him on his back. And of course a couple nights ago was a glimps into our future. He flipped on to his stomach, and Angel and Eric and Aunt Caroline did their YEAH!!!! and clapped. I thought oh no, we are getting to that stage. Where we have to clap everytime he farts. hahaha We want to build that self esteem now dont we?

Sit Tall...
So Logan sat up by himself for the first time on July 25th. I was sitting him up on the floor. And I let him go. And several times he was able to maintain a sitting up pose.

Laughing.
Sharon(daycare)had vacation the week after the 4th of July. So that leaves us in a pinch. However, Aunt Jamie volunteered/demanded that she keep him for us. Her and Uncle Victor love on Logan all the time. So I was completely comfortable with it. He was going through quite a fit stage at this point. So she got to experience this for the first time. Because usually when she is with him, he is a sweet Angel 100% of the time. Well spend 9 hours with him, and we have a different story. But I was extremely grateful to have family to watch over our baby cakes. At one point she said to me "I have never had a job in my life that made me this tired". haha Of course I laughed hysterically. Its a lot of work for sure. But the most rewarding. I know it sounds cheesy but, I was talking to Dr. Beals about Logan. And I told her, when I am tired and he is crying or whatever....and it just seems like the most annoying moment, I remember how hard I tried to have him, and how thankful I am that I have the moment to be tired/annoyed whatever. And it makes it all worth it. I will take a screaming baby any day over the possibility of having none. And I mean that 100%.
So we survived that week. Well Aunt Jamie and Uncle Victor survived that week. And of course on Sunday they thanked us for paying them because they took that money and turned it into several hundred more at the casino. hahah Lucky kids.
So my Bubby had an apt on Wednesday last week (July 14th). And at that apt, my little man weighs 16pound 14oz. Eric will probably correct me later, but I believe that is what they said. We saw Dr. Kami Chapin. She is actually Logans Aunt Sarahs friend. She is a very sweet girl. I say girl because she looks like a kid. Of course everyone looks like a kid to me anymore. Anyway....She decided to have us take a peek at Logans kidney just to be safe. Eric has a history of course. And well Logan does this flinching thing when you touch his back, so she said lets just be sure.
Saturday we headed over to the hospital at 7:15am for his ultrasound on his kidney. It was surreal, as it was the same room I use to go to when I would get ultrasounds done. In fact it was there that I saw Logan was alive still in July during this same time last year, whenI thought I had lost him. And on the screen we saw him wiggling around. Anyway,he did so good. He giggled I think it tickled. And he was a good boy. I think he liked the ultrasound tech. haha (FYI...he is fine. No kidney issues at all.)
Then we went to Erics parents house for the day. Rosemary and I had work to do for Sarahs Shower. And Eric and Terry had a golf outing to go to for Marcs bachelor festivities. I suppose this was the warm up. haha
It was so stinking hot that day. And Logan, Rosemary and I ran around Dewitt a million times. Then we chilled at her office/house. haha It was nice and chlly in there. We made fruit kabobs, sausage cheeseballs, and prep work on the mini quiches. We were also having french toast sticks but we made those the next day.
I think we finally got picked up around 7pm. We had a nice day and Logan got to spend time with his grandma or Meema as she wants to be called now. haha But we were super tired, and I was ready to sleep.
Of course we made a pit stop to Grandma Medinas. Jodi and Aunt Lucy, and Uncle Jesse got to hang with Logan for a bit. Alex apparently flipped off his bike. And well he was all tore up. The last time Alex got hurt was when I had Logan. His bone looked like it was coming out of his leg. UGH. Poor kid. He got banged up pretty bad.
July 18, 2010
So at this point, Eric and I have realized that Logan loves to laugh more
he grabs for things now.
He follows our food like he wants it.
he reached for eric...or so we think. hhaha
He rolls over almost perfectly....now to learn to crawl.
He is talking, however he is defitely related to my dads side of the family. He yells!!!!!!! its super cute.
he is on the second notch of his exersaucer. Awe!!!!
wearing 6-9month clothing, sometimes 9month. Strictly for the length.
He moved on to Oatmeal from rice cereal and he so prefers Rice Cereal. To which I am told is weird.
bangs his hands on the floor all the time. I thought it was odd but apparently this is common at this age.

Stars Stripes & Cereal....
This past weekend we were up north of course for the 4th of July festivities. I definitely packed a lot lighter. However I still have a lot of improving to do. I still get blown away how we need to pack a truck load for this tiny little guy.
So last week before we left I took Logan to the doc. He now weighs 16.8 pounds. This was his weight with a diaper on. And changed around his dose on his prevacid. But overall he is a healthy little boy. Dr. Josh always tells me Logan has such perfect skin tone. However, now he has developed a the slighted case of eczema. I probably spelled that wrong. However if you refer back to my very first post I tell you that I dont care. So we have to put more lotion on his little head. We can now use Sunscreen. But he tells me covering him up is best. We also talked about feedng our little man food. We are to give him 1tbs in the morning and 1tbs at night.
So we packed our bags and headed up north on Friday when Eric got home. It was Eric, myself, Michelle, Logan and Angel. OMG...we took almost 3 hours to get up there. Not because of traffic. No, it was because of Logan. We had to stop a couple times and feed him, or carry him. He is going through a rough patch here. His teething has been makng him a little uncomfortable. So we are just chill and go with the flow parents. And well we finally made it up.

We got up and sat Logan in the high chair that my mom has up north. He liked it. This would be his first. And he was so adorable. So Eric and I prepared his food as Dr. Josh told us to. I fed him a little bit of his bottle so he was not super starving. And then I scooped his first spoon (tiny bit)full in to his mouth. OMG...he was so adorable. He closed his mouth around the spoon and said "mmmmm" and ate it perfectly. I could not stop laughing. Every bite he took was followed by an "mmmmm". He really liked eating with a spoon. And we got it all on video and lot of pics were taken. Eric sat in and gave it a try. And it was really cute. So we were pretty pleased with our first time. Then I fed him the rest of his bottle. He is afteral still a baby.
Here he is patiently waiting to be fed. We had to get him while he was not STARVING. Try taking his bottle out of his mouth when he is hungry.....

Here we have his first bite of baby cereal. Awe....he was so good.

This picture makes me laugh because I think he looks like quagmeyer from Family Guy...take a look.....

"mmmm"

Oh yeah we have to let Dad try.....

Aunt Michelle cleaning up the aftermath.

Much better!

Here we decided to bring Logans swing outside for his nap. We thought the nice breeze would put him down....yup it did. And I wanted one for me.

And as always he was passed around and handled it like a champ. Everyone oohed and ahhhhed over his cuteness. And we had tons of helpers. So that was nice. He went swimming again....which is like his fave thing to do.
Here Uncle Pete wanted to hold "his twin". Thats what he calls Logan because everyone thinks that Uncle Petes grandson Colin looks like Logan. Its cute..they are a month apart.

Charity (my good friend from Jr/High School) had a baby 9 days after Logan was born. I have been wanting to get a pic of the boys together. And here is Kellen and Logan. My mom was carrying Kellen, and Charity was carrying Logan. And well Michelle was in the background. haha

We gave food another try, and as we have learned, its not always fun. So here is a shot of that....

And seeing how feeding was no fun, we know Logan loves bathtime. So it was Logans first ghetto bath. We threw him in the kitchen sink.

It was so blazing up there but once in a while we would get a good wind going. So Aunt Carm stole Logan from me, and put him to sleep on the swing...spoiled brat.

July 4th,
My good friend Jamie (Becker) Demerly got a place up in Harrison. So we have been meaning to meet up, and we did. She caught me and my dad garage saling on the golf cart. And then of course she finally was able to meet Logan.
Logan responded amazingly to the 4th. He slept through the whole thing. haha He slept through every bomb that went off in our backyard. And believe me I was shocked because they were so loud this year. So we will see if next year he flips out. Because I know he wont be sleeping.
July 5th was an extremly HOT day as well. Oh my lord it was warm. And Logan was teething and fussing, but we tried to make the most of it. My mom fed him and laid him in fron of the fan. And she let him hold his bottle (everyone tries this, but i want him to be a baby forever). And wouldnt you know it, my little monkey eats like a monkey....

Eric went boating with Danielle, Sean, and Todd. So Logan and I stayed behind and played for a while. We were trying to pose....

And here he was playing peek a boo with mommy....

Turn the Page...
(Started this post on June 25th....just not publishing it.)
So I read to my sweet little boy every night before bed. And he really loves this. In fact I think Eric loves it too. haha Anyway, the other night he turned the page. I wasnt sure who would believe me so I did it again last night in front of Eric, and yup..he had to hold the book and turn the page. Can you believe my little genius? haha
I read him the Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. I think Eric loves it when I read this. So weird.

Ray and Stefanies Wedding.....

So my brothers wedding turned out to be a lot of fun. It was seriously the hottest muggiest day for a wedding. And I being the dope that I am, decided to straighten my hair for the occasion. Bad move fuzzy top.
I rushed home got Logan all dolled up in his outfit...oh man he was a cutie.

+of+100_1322.jpg)
I took Logan to the ceremony. During the wedding I had Marc take him out in the hall because he was pretty fussy. And of course one of my aunts instantly snatches him out of Marcs arms. And well then from then on he was passed around to total strangers for the rest of the time we were there. He was so good until it was over. Everyone was super loud and just all over the place that I think it scared him. And he started screaming. So I took him and stepped away from all the madness. And then of course he was totally fine and fell instantly asleep.
Eric and I had Jayna(my student worker in the J-School) watch Logan at his parents house in Dewitt. So we made our way over to their place and got him settled. I thought with the music it would be a bad idea to take Logan. And Jayna is so super sweet I knew he would be just fine. So she was officially our first non family non daycare babysitter for Logan. We paid her about 8.50/hour. Boy have times changed. I got paid like $2.00/hour when I was a kid. WOW.
The reception was lots of fun...very pretty

I have a million more pics on my facebook page, you can find them there.
Jayna said Logan was super good. And that he loved the song Poker face. I couldnt stop laughing because that is a song I sing to him just about every night when I am getting him ready for bed. He loves Lady GaGa. We have moved on to Bad Romance. He happens to fall asleep when I sing that too him. So either it is my bad voice, or the lyrics. I havent figured it out yet.
First time in Crib
On June 14th, I finally caved and decided to let Logan sleep in his own crib. This of course was a very thought out process. We got him the Angelcare Monitor. This bad boy does it all. It has a sensor pad that goes under the mattress. This pad sets off an alarm if the baby were to stop breathing. We have tested it by picking him up. And let me just tell you, I will not sleep through that alarm. I has a temperature display. And an alarm will sound if it is too cold or too warm in his room. Is has a million other features, but those were the ones that mattered most to me.
We got him ready for bed quite early that night. And I layed him down in his crib. He now actually looks like he should be in there. Whereas when I placed him in there at about 2 months he looked like a dot compared to the bed.
See Photo below when he was just a little dot:

I did not want him to sleep alone. So I layed a mattress in his room. And I stayed in there with him. However, I begged Eric to join us. I didnt want Logans first night to be by himself. And of course he dont know any different. His eyes were closed the minute we shut the lights off. haha
In the middle of the night I woke up. And oh my God...I was so sore. So I looked at Logan. He was just fine. And I said to Eric "come on lets go to our bed." Forget that. So we grabbed the handset and went to our room. He slept just fine until about 4:30. I got him and fed him. And then put him back down to bed.
I am sure he only woke up because we put him to bed so early. Otherwise he would have been just fine.
So we made it! Another milestone for the Loganator. And it only took 5 months and 4 days. hahah

First time up north!
Memorial weekend 2010 was Logans first Holiday up north. I was super excited to take him. We packed as if we were moving out. But we were not about to be caught without what we needed. We borrowed my Dads Avalanche and it was full.
We brought his tub, swing, pool, bed, a million clothes, stroller. I mean seriously did we need all that? Not so much.
Anyway...Logan had a pretty okay time. The problem was it was super stinking HOT that weekend. We gave him a bath outside on the deck which he loved. He splashed the entire deck and me of course. And he had his first time in his swimming pool. He was super happy about that. The boy loves water. He was super cute. And Julian and Owen swam in there also.
Below is a pic of Logan, Owen and Grandma wearing Logans hat. hahahah

And here is a pic of us around the campfire one night....

The power went out for the first time in my memory that last night we were there. And that was strange. Logan did not like that. He was asleep inside. And Eric and I were at the fire. We had his monitor. And he screemed so loud. So we cuddled him until he went to sleep.
Other than that, it was a pretty chill weekend. Just how we like it. I cant wait for him to grow up and play on the playground.
We attempted to take him for a walk in the stroller. Eric had Julian in a stroller and I had Logan. But nope...Logan was not having it. He through a major fit, and we made it half a block and turned around. Better luck next time!
