Hair

So Michelle, Angel and I were asked to be in a hair show at the Soaring Eagle Casino this past weekend. My cousin Erics ex girlfriend Liz is a hair staylist in the Detroit area. And she thought of us. Mainly because they need their hair models to have unruly hair. I belive we fit the bill.

So these stylists from all over came to the Soaring Eagle Casino for this hair show. And they used us as models. It was pretty cool. Michelle got Color done. And Angel and I got the straightening system put in our hair. Mine is 1 week temporary, and Angels is supposedly 14-16 weeks temporary.

I had to have one side of my hair straight and the other side fluffy/fuzzy to show the dramatic difference. The guys were pretty cool that did our hair. The guy that did my hair was originally from Michigan, but now resides/works in Manhattan. His name was Jeremy. He also did Angels hair. The guy that did Michelles hair was from Salt Lake City and his name was Mike. It was funny because they both resembled old neighbors of mine from my childhood. Whatever...it was pretty funny. I should have took their pictures.

In any case, I felt like a puppy. As people would come up to me and ask if they could "touch" me. Sure...odd. And I had people taking pictures of me. And the big AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH when I walked on the stage. That was killer. I about died laughing. These stylist took this super serious.

Below are pics of the hair. My pic is not so good as I took this pic myself. But I took the one of Michelle.

Double the trouble

So if you recall, Eric got sick a couple weeks back. Well Logan ended up catching a little snotty cold. Nothing major at all. Just a little congestion. Well he was acting up so much that I took him in to see the doctor on Thursday April 15th. He was just slightly sick. And I guessed that he had an ear infection. And yup he did. He has a double ear infection...his first. Poor baby. So they prescribed amoxicillan. I know I spelled it wrong. Whatever!!! haha

Anyway, he now weighs 12pounds 6oz. And I am pretty sure most of it is in that edible chin he grew overnight. haha He is so loveable right now, its almost too much to handle.

And the doc said we are doing a great job with him. And as she asked how he is pooping, he pretty much unloaded 5 seconds later. She said "well that answers that question". It was pretty funny. And timing is everything. It could be a future skill of Logans. I just have to keep my eyes peeled. haha

We asked about the little twitches that he does ever so often. She said it was completely normal. that their system is developing. And from time to time they will do that. That was a huge relief.

We took Logan over to Erics parents house for a little bit. And we had dinner over there. So that was nice. They were able to spend an hour with our little man.

Then home we went after picking up his meds. I just love the medicine dispenser we use on Logan. It has a nipple attached to it, so they think its a bottle. He slams his medicine like its a tequila shot. So no problems there.

Heres to healing!

3 months

Yes this is my 3rd post in one day. However, it is very important that I mention that our little man is 3 months old. Below is a pick I took on my phone. However, I take better ones with my camera. I snap a photo next to a bear he got from my Aunt Caroline, Angel and Ericka. Its just a little comparison shot to see how much he has grown from month to month. We just cant believe that at 1 month, he was the same size as the bear. I put it away after the pics because I dont want it to get dingey It has to last through his first birthday.

The outfit he is wearing is from Ann Wooten. Ann was my first boss at Michigan State University. I was dying to put him in this outfit. It is for 0-3 months size. And I thought with his 3month professional pics coming up that he could wear it. Well I put this on him on Saturday....and SHOCKER, it is almost too short for him. So with that being said, he will not be wearing it for his 3 month pics in 2 weeks. Nope I am more than positive he will grow out of this outfit. So I snapped up as many pics as I could. I think it is super cute!

Guilt

If I think about the last time I actually got out and did something, I can probably date it back to some time last summer. I trully dont know. So we thought lets go out and go bowling Saturday night. All of my cousins were going. And it was the last night to do "scotch doubles". I hate bowling! However, I thought Eric likes it, so lets go.

That day, Logan was quite fussy. He is here and there. But he is never ever like that for a whole day. And by night time, I thought well maybe we should stay home. Well we were working on wedding invitations for my brothers wedding. And He was starting to get super cranky. So I said we are not going out tonight. We will stay home. Well then we swaddled him and he was better. And I gave him some Tylenol because he felt a little warm. And well it wasnt going to hurt. I held him. And he was okay and started to be playful. So I was like okay we can go. And of course my Mom and Dad said it was fine even if he was not feeling okay. But that was not okay with me. He comes before any night out. And he comes before anything period. And Eric was totally in agreement with me. I had said prior to having him that I would not be going out and doing things once I had a baby. That I felt that when we finally had children, that all those days were over. But after talking with people, I realized that it is important for Eric and I to have some sort of activity aside from him. Its just he is so young and it is so early that I start to have super guilt. And that is a whole new bag of emotions.

Well we made our plans to leave. And we were bombarding my mom with do this and dont do that...and he needs this and not that. And of course the whole time my parents and brother were laughing at us. But its what I do. And it makes Eric and I feel better to know that we have said what we wish. And aside from that, well....it is what it is. We just hope everyone respects our wishes for how we want Logan cared for. And then at the end of the day, we know everyone just loves him, and that is what matters the most. So I get in the car and I call my parents right way to talk to them about burping him just to be funny.

Pretty much the whole night I really did just want to go home. And I really did just think about Logan. And I had no business being out if I am just not ready to do it. On top of my emotional need to be home with my little man, was the fact that physically I was exhausted. We did not leave there until 1:30am. OMG...we had to stay because we bought these stupid tickets to try to win more money after the tourney. I did enjoy conversations I had with our group. But really my heart was not in it. I was ready to go before we even left the house. Not a good way to have fun. Nobody knew this but Eric, and possibly Angel. As I would say I should check on Logan. And she would say "awwweee". hahah with a sad face. However, I did have some fun laughing and chatting it up with everyone.

By the time we left it was too cool and late out. So we stayed the night at my parents. We put the pack and play up in my old bedroom. Which Eric said, isnt it weird that your son is sleeping in your old bedroom? I was like hmmm I didnt think about that. But now that you say this...yes. haha Logan was fine the whole night. He slept the minute we left and was up eating when we got home. He didnt even know we were gone. And it is just one of those things I have to get use to. We have to have a life that consists of fun for Eric and I. And we will find a way to make it work. But for now...I just need to take baby steps. I truly love being with my baby. To me it is bigger and better than any dream or idea I have ever had. And I dont feel like I am going without. However, I know that my relationship with Eric has to continue to grow outside of being parents. We have to have our time together too. And so with very small baby movements, I will crawl to find that fine line between mother and wife.

Our next goal is to go out for my sisters birthday to see the Mega 80's. This is a ritual that Eric and I stumbled across. And we love to see these guys play whenever we can. Eric is pumped, and so is my sister. So with that being said....I need to start gearing up for 3 weeks from now. Because the plan is to go see the Mega 80's for Bells birthday. Wish me luck!

Easter Tradition

We were called to Erics moms house to pick up a little something that she had for Logan. Apparently Rosemary's family has a little Easter Tradition. And this tradition consists of giving the kids eggs that came from the Easter Bunny. So as her mom did for her, and as she did for her children, she made Easter Eggs for Logan. And basically back in the day, a need for die to color eggs was needed. And they of course used onion peels boiled or beets or what have you. And that color generated from the boil was used to die the eggs. So we picked up a little Easter basket that had eggs from the "Easter Bunny". And then of course her and Eric talked about how we now have to do this for Logan. She also gave us a few clothing items for his little butt.

With all the craziness of the year/season, she did not get these things together by Easter. But it was nice to have something to give him after the fact as well. And lets be real, he doesnt know any better right now. But what a very nice thoughtful gift. I cant wait to share these traditions with Logan when he is older and can understand.

It makes me get excited because by the time Christmas rolls around, he might be at a stage (almost 1) where we can actually have fun with the whole present/traditions thing. Our lives are so much more better with him in it.

My sweet Logan

So not a whole lot is going on. Every day I put aside another outfit or two that Logan no longer fits in. Its cool. And it is exciting. But at the same time it makes me sad. In any case, we are in the transition stage of his diapers. He is between "newborn" and "1". Pretty much I use the "1", and Sharon uses the newborn size. She dont mind having to change him more often in the day time. I mind because if he sleeps with them on, he will pee through his clothes. So I prefer the size 1.

Last night Logan went to sleep after his 10pm feeding and woke up at 5:30am. OMG...Eric and I were flipping out. He is pretty content apparently. Then Michelle stayed the night so she fed him while I got ready for work. And she said he slept the whole time he ate. She pretty much had to force him to eat. Little sleepy head. So I got out of the shower and I got him ready for daycare. I had to wipe his face down with a wet washcloth to get him to wake up. Then he was all smiles and cuddly.

Tonight him and I are heading to Owosso to put a deposit on our trip. We are going with Tony and Martina and the million others on their wedding cruise. We are all super excited. And well...its not until next year. But I laugh that Logan will be going on his first cruise already. Its sort of exciting. Erics parents are joining us in addition to my family. So it is truly a family affair. We couldnt talk his brother in to going. But by that time next year, I am sure they will be working on their own little family. So it is probably for the best.

Well that is pretty much all I have for now.

Have a great day!

First Easter

So Friday Eric and I had the day off. I had a doc apt in the morning. And we wanted to clean up around the house and relax a while. So we took Logan to Daycare anyway. We figure we have to pay anyway, we may as well use it right? Logans Daycare lady is the sweetest woman ever. She totally spoils him rotton. He got his toys from her. And he got a book and some rice cereal, and baby food for his easter gift. So they had a little easter egg hunt at Sharons. His first one ever.

Aunt Jamie came over and helped Eric and I clean up around the house. It was such a nice day. So we had the doors open and music blaring. It was nice. And Eric went and picked up Logan for me. When he got to the house I had to put him in his new clothes I got him. And I finally put him in his first pair of shoes. All of which we got at the "childrens place". See photo.....

He was in the greatest mood. We had him laughing for so long. And I sent that picture to everyone under the sun. And not one person thought that was Logan. Apparently he looked like an "old Man", "Toddler", "Somebody elses kid". Etc... And I think it is super funny.

Mom, Dad, Uncle Victor, and Michelle Eric and I and Logan all sat out back on our deck for a bit. First time this year. And enjoyed the nice day. Then we all headed over to mom and dads and cooked out. Tino and Amber and their kids and Phil, and Jesse and Jodi and my bro and his kids. And we started a fire outside as if we were up north.

Saturday came and Eric and I kept thinking it was Sunday. But yeah, it wasnt. I got Logan up bright and early to get in his Spartan gear....

He looks like a little gangster. I got him that outfit during his first month. I wanted him to wear it for his pictures. However, it was super huge on him (still is)So that never happened. It is a 0-3 month size outfit, yet here he is almost 3 months old and still it is huge. The hat is super huge. It is a gift from my friend Constantinos. His plan was for him to wear it in the fall. But I had to take pics with him in it now. He will sport it again during football season for sure.

We watched the game at mom and dads with everyone. Unfortunately MSU lost to Butler by 2 points. Tough loss for sure. But Spartan fans were there in plenty.

Easter Sunday....

Erics family came over for brunch. They were all excited to see Logan as usual. Marc cant ever put Logan down when he sees him. It is quite funny. And he spent quality time with his family. Marc and Sarah got Logan an Easter basket with diapers, onesies, and a photo album. So nice. Erics mom made us all pretty sugar cookies with our names on them. Michelle got Logan some teething rings that go in the freezer. They are really cute.

At 3:00 we went over to Aunt Carolines house for the Egg hunt. Logan was the first one because he is the youngest. So we posed with Eggs and what not. While the paparazzi stood around taking pictures and videos. I will post those later. I think he was asleep the whole time. My sister Libby bought Logan some outfits. They are super cute. I cant wait until he fits in them. We hung out for a while over there. And then we headed back to Grandmas and watched old family Easter videos. It was so cute.

During the night,Logan became a little fussy. I think he is still fighting a cold. And he needed to be held most of the morning. My sister again let me sleep while she rocked him. She didnt have to work in the morning. So thats what she did.

Logan is cooing and laughing now at this stage. And he is just so much more fun that before. I cant wait for more.
